Darovit - Page 4

Githany believed Lord Bane had made his way to the Jedi's camp, so she and Darovit followed a network on tunnels in the caves on Ruusan to sneak into the camp from the rear. In the tunnels Darovit was surprised to find Hardin assigned to guard the tunnels with a cadre of Jedi Knights. Filled with anger, Darovit attacked and squared off with Hardin. During the battle, Hardin lost his leg as Githany urged Darovit to finish him quickly. Incapacitated, Hardin questioned how Darovit could end up with the Sith after having revered the Jedi. Darovit responded that ever since coming to Ruusan, he had seen the Jedi as weak, not living up to the image of them he built up in his mind. Darovit felt like the Sith offered him a way to escape death.

At the same time, Lord Kaan set off his thought bomb and the destruction was sweeping across the planet. The walls of the cave began to crumble around Darovit and Hardin. The Force began to drain from Hardin diminishing his life essence, but surprisingly, Darovit was unaffected. A huge boulder crushed Hardin and it was only in the aftermath of the chaos that Darovit realized what he had done. As he escaped the cave, the entire planet was devastated with only a few survivors milling about. Darovit made his way to the Sith camp and deep within the caves found the result of Kaan's handiwork - an immense black orb that held the essences of Jedi and Sith alike.

In those caves, Darovit was reunited with Zannah, she hadn't died after all. However, during he journey, she had somehow acquired the attention of Lord Bane. Recognizing the Force-potential within her, Bane planned to accept her as his apprentice. Still wanting to look out for his own however, Darovit attacked Bane to protect Zannah from him. Zannah, despite her young age, had given herself fully to the Dark Side and had no trouble using the Force this time. In a effortless display, Zannah made Darovit's hand burst, leaving him with only one hand.

Bane and Zannah left Darovit in the caves of Ruusan in agony the Battle of Ruusan finally over. In the aftermath of the battle, Darovit roamed the plains of Ruusan. While the war had forced Darovit to grow up fast he was still very much a child. Having failed at being a Jedi and failed at being a Sith, Darovit resolved to first try to be a man. It would not be until the onslaught of the Clone Wars and the revenge of the Sith where the Jedi would face such devastation to the ranks of their order.
